Foreign Investment & Ownership Rules
About the service
This service is Module 2 of 16 in a legal package I offer to German companies entering the Syrian market or setting up a company there, as an independent Syrian lawyer based in Syria. The full package is USD 15,000 in total and is published on my profile as 16 separate services; you may order one or several modules.
What this module delivers: a written report on foreign investment and foreign ownership restrictions applicable to your sector in Syria.
Package structure:
• Modules 1-8: legal feasibility study of the Syrian market (written report), including the current sanctions position.
• Modules 9-10: legal advice on setting up the company (comparison of legal forms and a formation roadmap).
• Modules 11-16: 6 months of legal counsel (one module per month) by email and scheduled video calls, with review of local documents and contracts within an agreed cap.
Nature of the engagement (important):
• I act as an independent service provider under a service agreement, not as an employee or worker of the client: I decide how, when and with which tools I work, I follow no instructions or working hours, I am not integrated into the client's organisation, I may serve other clients, and fees are for deliverables and milestones, not hours.
• I do not represent the company, sign on its behalf or hold any management authority, and this service does not create a branch, office or permanent representative of the German company in Syria.
• Advice is limited to Syrian law; it does not cover German or EU law or German taxes, and coordination with a German adviser for those aspects is recommended.
• Any formal step before Syrian authorities (powers of attorney, registration filings) requires a separate written agreement.
• Full confidentiality with a mutual NDA; both parties comply with applicable sanctions and compliance rules.
Timeline: this module is delivered within 5 days of receiving the requirements.
